Coalbed Natural Gas Alliance
Hosts Appreciation Picnic in Sheridan, Wyoming SHERIDAN - The Coalbed Natural Gas Alliance, in conjunction with four coalbed natural gas operators and a handful of landowner members, hosted an appreciation picnic on Monday, June 28, 2004, at the Kendrick Park bandshell in Sheridan, Wyoming. Devon Energy Company, Marathon Oil Company, Fidelity Exploration and Production and J.M. Huber Corporation - all members of the Coalbed Natural Gas Alliance - socialized with nearly 200 landowners involved in coalbed natural gas (CBNG) development. The barbecue was catered by Aunt Beas Chuckwagon and cowboy music was provided by the Dubois, Wyoming-based Prickly Pear. Landowners from as far east as Leiter, Wyoming attended as well as ranchers from Lower Prairie Dog Creek, just northeast of Sheridan, where quite a bit of CBNG development is underway. Tom Koltiska, a rancher on Lower Prairie Dog, attended the event with his family. Weve got three companies working on our place and each one deals with their landowners differently. Its been going on for five years and we like the way things are working. The water has been a big advantage during these drought years, he added. The picnic celebrated the many successful partnerships which exist in the development of CBNG. All present operators and landowners expressed reciprocal thanks for the efforts of both parties to ensure responsible CBNG development. We appreciate the opportunity to socialize with the landowners we work with every day. We value the relationships weve cultivated here, commented Hubers Bill DeLapp. The Coalbed Natural Gas Alliances mission is to inform, educate and communicate accurate information about coalbed natural gas development within the Powder River CBNG play in Montana and Wyoming. Information on the Alliance can be found on its website, www.cbnga.com. The Alliance provides examples showing that CBNG development naturally coexists with a healthy environment, including farming, ranching and wildlife habitat.
